Results of St Boniface PPC Elections
Congratulations to John Linder, Brigida Munoz, and Maureen Kelley Stewart who were all elected to the council for a two-year term. Thanks to them and the others who put themselves forward for this service of the larger community. The St Boniface PPC (as well as ABVM's) will begin meeting again in September with the start of the new pastoral year.
Special Collection for Kentucky
We will have a special second collection this weekend in support of those affected by the flooding in Kentucky. Donations can be made via Pushpay by selecting the Kentucky Flooding fund. If you are using a check, please note on your check Kentucky Flooding and make your check payable to Assumption or St. Boniface.
Choir Forming at Assumption
Assumption is seeking people to join a choir this fall! Interested parties should email Music Director Maureen Kelly at mkelly@oratorychurch.org with a short introduction of their musical background. No formal training is required, but volunteers should be comfortable reading music and interested in learning a diverse repertoire. All applicants will be asked to come in for a brief audition, in which they can sing something of their choosing and demonstrate their comfort level sight-reading music.
Become a Laudato Si' Animator
Taking its name from Pope Francis’ encyclical, the Laudato Si’ Movement is offering a four-week training program for individuals interested in taking action from a faith perspective to protect our common home. In the four modules, you will learn what is happening to harm our environment and how we can engage as Catholics to address the impact on our communities.

Join the upcoming Leadership Development Course to become a Laudato Si’ Animator; it will empower you to bring Laudato Si’ to life in your community, prayer group or parish. It is a free, online training; the registration deadline is August 21, and the training starts August 24. The schedule is flexible to accommodate your needs. For more information or to register, go to: www.laudatosianimators.org

Interested in exploring Catholicism?
The 2022-2023 RCIA Program Begins in October

RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and is the program for all those wishing to explore full communion in the Catholic Church. This can include all types of people: maybe you’ve just started coming to St. Boniface or Assumption and want to know more about Catholicism; or you have questions about God or Jesus but don’t know where to ask them; maybe you were raised in a different faith tradition, or none at all, and want a deeper connection with what you find at the Oratory churches; maybe you’re engaged to or married to a Catholic and want to consider becoming Catholic yourself; or maybe you are a baptized Catholic who wishes to complete your sacraments of initiation with First Communion and/or Confirmation. If any of these fits where you are, you are warmly invited to join the RCIA program for 2022-2023, which will culminate in the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil on April 8, 2023.

Starting in mid-October, RCIA will meet on Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, mainly on Zoom, and hopefully with monthly meetings in person at Assumption in Brooklyn Heights.  For information, or to sign up, contact one of our priests, or the RCIA Team, Rob, Nadine, and Patrick at faith@oratorychurch.org. We hope you’ll join us!
