Message from the President

Dear IDA-Oregon Community,

To support our mission, "Until Everyone Can Read," we are thrilled to announce that this year's Annual Spring Symposium on April 15th takes a deep dive into the Science of Language and Reading as it pertains to Early Childhood. As IDA-Oregon's premiere event of the year, we encourage you to attend a day of in-person learning and networking at The University of Portland with Lucy Hart Paulson, Ed.D, CCC-SLP.

Thanks to generous help from our donors, we have 12 scholarships available!

We welcome attendance from everyone, including IDA members and non-members, dyslexia specialists, educators, policymakers, physicians, SLPs., caregivers, and parents. Regarding early literacy indicators and the importance of early intervention, it's hard to think of anyone who would not benefit from this knowledge, whether for personal or professional growth. I hope this year's Symposium will add to your toolkit as you work toward increasing literacy for all and removing barriers for people with dyslexia. As we know from the science, this knowledge has the power to help those with dyslexia and countless others.

I look forward to connecting with you face-to-face!

With gratitude,

Danielle Thompson, President IDA-Oregon
