Tarleton State University alumnus Henry Hohenberger has made an unprecedented eight-figure philanthropic contribution to his alma mater. The donation establishes the Henry Hohenberger Land Endowment for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources to provide resources in high-need areas and professional development opportunities for faculty and students, and to enhance best-in-class agricultural research.

Beyond The Classroom
Students with the 'Unbridled China' Riding Club Visit Stephenville Area
Dr. Jessica Leatherwood recently hosted a group of students from Bejing, China. The group of students and their advisor An Tao are part of Unbridled China. During their trip to Texas, they visited a variety of local ranches and groups to learn more about the Texas Horse Industry and train in preparation for their return later this year.

Student Highlights
Vickie Rosenbusch Memorial Scholarship Awarded
Dathan Green has been awarded the Vickie Rosenbusch Memorial Scholarship for Spring 2023. He is an Agricultural Education major focusing on state teacher certification. Dathan will be student teaching this semester at Leander High School.

Spring Agricultural Education Block
This semester, 26 student teachers will be completing their college degrees by student teaching across the state. Their spring semester will include teaching classes, working with FFA members' training teams, attending livestock shows, and helping students with awards and scholarship applications. According to Dr. David Frazier, “This experience is the culmination of their college career and it provides them with the hands-on experience that will set the standard for the rest of their careers.” 

National Farm Life Insurance Awards Agricultural Education Scholarships
"National Farm Life was founded in the shadow of agricultural education in Texas by a former high school ag teacher, and it is quite appropriate that we continue to support young professionals stepping into the agricultural industry,” McGregor said. National Farm Life is proud to support Tarleton State University’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and its students.

Inside the Arena
Several representatives from the Department of Agricultural Education & Communication are serving agriculturally involved youth and communities as they judge multiple livestock shows across the state of Texas.

Agriculture Education Senior, Wyatt Wharton shared, “It is an honor to be able to evaluate livestock and work with exhibitors who are going to be the future of the agriculture industry.”
