Cars and Trucks and Things that Go
The ability to manage your own transportation is a big step towards independence! Whether it is booking your own Access Calgary, navigating Calgary Transit, or getting your license, each is a way to get around on your own. Here are some reminders and opportunities to put in your calendar.

Access Calgary - if you are renewing or applying for Access Calgary and need New Heights staff to fill out Part G - Professional Verification, please reach out. Most of our staff does not work in the summer so we will need to fill out the forms before the end of June.

Transit Camp -T2A has partnered again with Calgary Transit to offer a New Heights Transit Training Camp this summer. This is for Jr or Sr High students only. It will run daily from August 19-23 from 12-3pm. You can apply here. Last year we enjoyed meeting Peace Officers, touring the train barns, and riding our own private city bus! We will also focus on learning your student's specific route from home to school.

Driver's Ed - T2A will be offering a Learner's Licence course from August 12-16. More information to come. This course is open to any New Heights students who are 14 or older. We will NOT be driving. This is just to learn information for the written learner's licence test.

Big Hearted Masquerade Gala
The gala is THIS Saturday night!
Even if you aren't attending in person, you can bid on items online.
Click here, choose "Online Bidder Registration" and follow the prompts. Online auction opens on Tuesday, April 23 at 9am closes April 27 at 9pm.
New Heights Talent & Variety Show
It’s time to start planning for the annual New Heights Talent & Variety Show on May 23!

This year the Talent Show will combine in person/video performances. There will be an elementary talent show and a seperate junior high/high school talent show.

Here’s how it will work:

1.     Think about what you want to share and have a plan. Bring the planning sheet back to your teachers by May 3.

2.     If you are choosing to perform your talent in-person, start practicing!

3.     If you are choosing to create a video (maximum 2 minutes) to showcase your talent:

Film your presentation or routine at home and submit the video (maximum 2 minutes) by May 16 to this Google Drive Folder

We will edit a video to send out to parents sometime time in June.
