Rolling Forward with Metro Transit
After years of service reductions due to COVID-19 and a driver shortage, this summer transit is on the upswing. On June 17, Metro Transit’s regular quarterly update was implemented with a goal of increasing transit service throughout the region. The changes are based on current and projected ridership and the available driver workforce – both of which are trending up.
Some of the service changes include the reinstatement of Route 355 (Express bus from Woodbury to Downtown Minneapolis) and added frequency to 17 other routes. Some suspended route segments have been reinstated: Route 645 now goes as far as Mound again. Orange Line frequency has been increased to every 15 minutes during midday on weekdays.
The scheduling and route upgrades coincide with a public safety and community outreach “reset” to help address rider safety concerns. The reset includes greater visibility of Metro Transit police, Community Service Officers, contracted security officers, and members of community service groups on bus routes, transit centers, and train platforms.

Prudential Financial Moves to the Dayton's Project
Prudential Financial moved into the Dayton's Project building in Minneapolis this month, the fifth major tenant to move into the revitalized former department store space. Most of the staff is on a hybrid schedule that brings them downtown several times a week.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 15th welcomed a new chapter for Prudential as well as downtown Minneapolis. While employees are excited about working in the heart of downtown with amenities galore, many are working in the city for the first time.
Move Minneapolis is here to help with the relocation for commuters new to downtown. Transit coaching, carpool registration, and finding the best routes for active transportation modes such as biking, walking, and scooters are some of the ways Move Minneapolis provides for better commuting into downtown.
Move Minneapolis provides free transportation benefits consulting for employer relocations to make a smoother transition.
