On Sunday, December 5th, Huguenot Trail District hosted a special Community Celebration in honor of Cindy and Jeff Morris. Their contributions to local Scouting are immeasurable, and we simply cannot thank them enough. Congratulations and all our love and thanks to Cindy and Jeff for a lifetime of service and leadership!

Scouts Trash the Trash Day
Scouts Trash the Trash Day is an international project for Scouts around the world, where each Scout is challenged to pick up at least 2 pounds of trash on May 7th, 2022.
Sign-up for this annual event starts on January 1st, 2022, so mark your calendar and prepare for a great spring service project.
Come race Pinewood Derby Cars and socialize at an event benefiting the Heart of Virginia Council, BSA. This adults-only event is presented by Midas of Richmond and hosted byHardywood Brewery. Beer and pizza will be provided for all competitors, and spectators are welcomed and encouraged. #Richmond540 #PINTwoodRVA
The Council Advancement Committee has held discussions with the Council Professionals on the necessity of offering virtual Merit Badges by the Council. It has been decided that no virtual Merit Badge classes will be offered by the Council in 2022 and there are no plans to do so anytime in the foreseeable future. We are all excited to get back to in-person activities.
Avenza Maps™ is a mobile map app that allows you to download maps for offline use on your iOS and Android smartphone or tablet. Use your device’s built-in GPS to track your location on any map. Know your location anywhere on the property – these mobile maps don’t need the internet to work, making them perfect for adventures like geocaching, orienteering, navigation, and tracking. There is no charge to HOVC or you as users to access these maps.
