SCCIP Information Session

First time applying to SCCIP? Seasoned grant writer? Join us for a SCCIP information session dedicated to the Arts Development, Culture Builds Community and Festival Programs.

When: Tuesday Aug. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: Online (via Zoom)
Free - Pre-registration required. Email culture@stcatharines.ca to RSVP. (Please mention the SCCIP Info Session in your email.)

Whether you're looking for a first-time overview of SCCIP programs or a refresher, this online session will help get you off to a good start. Cultural Services staff will give a short presentation on the programs and answer your questions. "See" you there!

Cultural Funding Update
SCCIP Recommendations Approved by Council

On Monday June 27, St. Catharines City Council approved $10,000 in SCCIP funding recommendations for applications received at the March 24 deadline. Successful applicants have been approved through the Culture Days Activity Program. Culture Days activities will take place Sept. 23 to Oct. 16, 2022. Please check the City's Culture Days page for information and updates, coming soon!

On June 27, St. Catharines City Council also approved approved $292,850 in SCCIP funding recommendations for applications received at both the April 14 and May 19 deadlines. Successful applicants have been approved as follows:

Sustaining - Core Program
(2022/2023 Season)
  • Carousel Players - $47,000
  • Chorus Niagara - $17,850
  • Niagara Artists Centre - $49,000
  • Niagara Symphony Orchestra - $60,000
  • Suitcase in Point Theatre - $33,000

Sustaining - Festival Program
  • In the Soil Festival 2023 (Suitcase In Point Theatre) - $15,000

Sustaining - Midsized Program
(2022/2023 Season)
  • Essential Collective Theatre - $33,000
  • The Gallery Players of Niagara - $12,000
  • Willow Arts Community - $18,000

Arts Development Program
  • Cicada Music and Arts - $7,000
  • Amanda McDonnell Ad-hoc Group - $1,000

Through these investments, a total of $302,850 has been committed (to date) this year to: increase cultural vibrancy; provide meaningful artistic and cultural experiences for residents of St. Catharines; and build the economy.
