Welcome to the ECE Recap where you can find the
most recent and important information from the
Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL).
Good morning ECE Recap recipients,

The original intent of the Recap was to consolidate important policy updates that were released in the prior week specifically targeting licensed child care providers. This was a process developed during COVID-19 to ensure child care providers were not missing critical communications and as a way to consolidate those announcements into one place weekly.

Over the past several months the Recap has expanded to become almost a mini-Early Education News edition, including a wealth of additional information.

We are going to revert back to the original intent of the Recap by streamlining the content included in each addition.

When OCDEL issues new or updated policies directed to the regulated child care community, those providers will receive a direct email including the Announcement. It is released to the email address OCDEL has on file for the provider's authorized contact.

The Recap is distributed to a broader email audience, ensuring that all interested individuals receive policy updates.

Moving forward, if no important updates were released in the prior week, the Recap will be issued indicating, "No new News" to ensure operators understand they did not miss a critical communication.
