DHMS PTSA Updates

DHMS PTSA Meeting Follow-up

Thank you to everyone who attended the DHMS PTSA Membership Meeting on Tuesday, March 14th. If you missed the meeting, visit dorothyhamm.apsva.us/ptsa/ptsa-meetings for the draft meeting minutes, and contact Khal Monaro, DHMS PTSA President, with any questions.

Seeking DHMS PTSA Nominating Committee Volunteers

The PTSA Board is looking for at least three current DHMS PTSA members interested in serving on the Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee is responsible for identifying, vetting, and nominating the slate of qualified nominees for next year's elected PTSA officers. If you are interested, please send an email to DHMS PTSA Secretary, Angela Huskey, at secretary@dhmsptsa.org no later than Friday, April 7th. The PTSA Membership will vote to approve the Nominating Committee members at the Tuesday, April 11th PTSA Meeting, after which they will begin seeking interested volunteers to fill next year's DHMS PTSA officer positions.

In the meantime, please consider volunteering for PTSA leadership! Visit dorothyhamm.apsva.us/ptsa/committee-chairs for a list of all the board and committee positions that are open for election or appointment. New to DHMS families are also welcome. So if you know elementary school families who will be joining us next year, please share our call for volunteers with them. All experience levels, or none at all, are welcome; just a willingness to support our students, families, and faculty. Please contact DHMS PTSA President, Khal Monaro, with any questions or if you'd like to get involved.

Thank You for Supporting the DHMS PTSA Phoenix Fund

Many thanks to our families and friends who continue to donate to the Phoenix Fund, including: Margaret Chase, Hallie Zimmers, and Michael Steinig. We appreciate your continued support!

DHMS News & Announcements

DHMS Spring Musical: Mary Poppins Jr!

DHMS presents their spring musical: Mary Poppins Jr! Performances are March 23 and 24 at 7:00p and March 25 at 4:00p. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the door prior to each performance starting at 6:00p and are also available for pre-sale during lunch by cash or check.

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect.
