SUBJECT: Privacy Preference


As a state agency of the State of Texas, Austin Community College (ACC) is governed by the Texas Public Information Act (TPIA). This legislation ensures transparency and accountability in government operations by granting the public access to certain government records, including those held by ACC. However, safeguarding employee privacy is equally important. Under the provisions of the TPIA, certain personal information can be withheld from public disclosure, protecting your privacy rights.


To ensure that your personal information remains confidential, we are requesting that you specify your privacy preferences in Workday. Some of the personal information items that can be withheld include home address and phone numbers, social security number, emergency contact information, and information that may reveal a family member's personal details.


Your privacy matters to us, and we want to respect your wishes regarding the disclosure of your

personal information. If you choose to have any of the above information withheld, ACC will ensure that it remains confidential in accordance with the TPIA.


A task called "Change My Privacy Preference" is in your Workday Inbox instructing you to record your privacy preference. Pease take a few moments to select your preferences and submit the task. By completing this action, you will help us better protect your privacy while fulfilling our obligations under the law.
