Dear parents,

From March 21 to 13 April the use of Av. 5 de Febrero is going to be severely restricted from Av. del Tlacote to Zaragoza in the direction north-south.

This is going to have a severe impact on access to our school for those that need to use Av. 5 de febrero.

To recognize the difficulties that both students and staff may face in attending school we are providing further options for those that cannot get to campus and home in a reasonable time.

Later today each Principal will write to you all detailing the options for your section and how we will manage this situation. As the school will be closed for the two-week Easter vacations, the interruptions are only planned for the school programs from MONDAY 21 MARCH until THURSDAY 30 MARCH. (Friday 31 March is a Professional Day)

In general terms:

All students not using Av. 5 de Febrero North-South are encouraged to attend school as usual. We will be flexible with late arrivals as we are not aware yet of the full impact of the traffic issues.

Pre-school and Elementary Schools will have the option of online VRL (Voluntary Remote Learning) classes for those that register (details of how to register will be included in the message from your principal).

Middle School and High Schools will have the option of asynchronous online VRL (Voluntary Remote Learning). With the present group structures and teachers available we cannot cover both live and online classes at the same time in these sections, but there will be flexibility and support for all these students.

Extended Learning and Sports: all afternoon classes and sessions will remain open as usual until we can see if there is a significant impact. We will advise you later of any changes if necessary.

Planned events may need to be moved, and the details of all of this will be included in the letters from the principals that you will receive today.

Until we can see the full impact of the traffic we understand that there will be needs to possibly modify how we can continue to support both students and staff during this two-week period.

Estimados padres,

Del 21 de marzo al 13 de abril el uso de la Av. 5 de Febrero va a estar severamente restringida desde Av. Tlacote a Zaragoza en el sentido norte-sur.

Esto va a tener un impacto severo en el acceso a nuestra escuela para aquellos que necesiten utilizar la Av. 5 de Febrero.

Estamos considerando muy seriamente las dificultades a las que tanto los alumnos como el personal pueden enfrentarse para asistir a la escuela, por lo que estamos proporcionando más opciones para aquellos que no puedan llegar al campus y a casa en un tiempo razonable.

En breve, los directores les comunicarán por escrito los detalles de las opciones que tendremos para cada sección y cómo gestionaremos esta situación. Dado que la escuela permanecerá cerrada durante las dos semanas de vacaciones de Semana Santa, las interrupciones sólo están previstas para los días de clase antes de vacaciones, desde el LUNES 21 DE MARZO hasta el JUEVES 30 DE MARZO. (El viernes 31 de marzo es Día Profesional).

En términos generales:

Sugerimos a todos los alumnos que no utilicen la Av. 5 de Febrero de Norte-Sur a que asistan a clase como de costumbre. Seremos flexibles con las llegadas tardías ya que aún no conocemos el impacto total de los problemas de tráfico.

Preschool y Elementary tendrán la opción de clases en línea VRL (Voluntary Remote Learning) para aquellos que se registren (los detalles de cómo registrarse se incluirán en el mensaje de su director).

Middle School y High School tendrán la opción de clases en línea asincrónicas de VRL (Voluntary Remote Learning). Con las actuales estructuras de grupo y maestros disponibles no podemos cubrir clases en vivo y en línea al mismo tiempo en estas secciones, pero habrá flexibilidad y apoyo para todos estos alumnos.

Extended Learning y Sports: todas las clases y deportes vespertinos permanecerán abiertos como de costumbre hasta que podamos ver si hay un impacto significativo. Le informaremos más adelante de cualquier cambio si fuera necesario.

Es posible que haya que reagendar los eventos programados con anterioridad, los detalles de todo ello se incluirán en las cartas de los directores que recibirán hoy.

Hasta que podamos ver el impacto total del tráfico, sabremos si habrá necesidad de modificar la forma en que podremos seguir apoyando tanto a los alumnos como al personal durante este período de dos semanas.
