Enjoy Your Spring Recess


Spring Recess will be from Monday, March 13 through Sunday, March 19. No classes will be held, but college offices will remain open during this time.


Note: The ARC Student Beaver Bites newsletter will take a brief hiatus for Spring Recess and will return on Friday, March 24.

Daylight Savings


Don’t forget to spring ahead! Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 12 at 2:00 am.

ARC Library Closed Beginning 3/13


Due to the recent flooding, the Library Building will be closed for repairs for an expected three-week period beginning Monday, March 13. You can still get support from the Library while the building is closed by connecting with staff via chat or phone at (916) 484-8458. See our email to student for more information about how you can access Library services during this time.

ARC Learning Resource Center is Hiring Tutors

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Take LRC300
  • Complete class being tutored with a B or higher
  • Complete an interview with the faculty coordinator

Women’s History Month


In support of the theme for this year’s national Women’s History Month, “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories,” save the date for “The Power of Our Life Stories” on Thursday, March 23, from 12:00 to 1:20 pm online via Zoom. This panel will feature women representing each decade, from teen to ninety, who will read short pieces and share on the power of storytelling throughout the decades. Facilitated by CRC English Professor Heather Hutcheson and FLC English Professor Nicole Griffin.

Feature Film Screening: Writing with Fire

Today, Friday, March 10, 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., ARC Student Center in the Unite Center Lobby



In honor of Women's History Month, today we will be screening this award-winning documentary: Writing with Fire (pizza and drinks provided). Following the screening, there will be a Prise meeting. Open to American River College students, faculty, and staff.

WEAVE Virtual Services


Beginning Friday, March 17, Los Rios WEAVE Confidential Advocate services will be available virtually only until further notice. The WEAVE confidential advocate is a person available to confidentially support or provide information to students or employees who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or sexual harassment.

Produce Distributions


The Beaver Cares Basic Needs Center offers currently enrolled ARC students facing food insecurity free fruits and vegetables on certain Wednesdays throughout the semester. Students should sign up for produce distributions in advance.

  • Wednesday, March 22 (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
