Vaccine Questions? There's an App for That

There is no better time to offer the pneumococcal vaccine. Pneumococcal disease contributes to the US burden of pneumonia, meningitis, bacteremia, sinusitis, and otitis media. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends routine administration of PCV15 or PCV20 for all adults 65 years or older who have never received any pneumococcal vaccine or whose previous vaccination history is unknown.

What is Considered Up-to-Date for Covid-19 Vaccination?

The CDC has simplified the Covid-19 vaccine schedule. Everyone 6 years and older should get one updated Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of whether they’ve received any original COVID-19 vaccines. Also,

  • People aged 65 years and older may get one additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine four or more months after the first updated COVID-19 vaccine.
  • People who are moderately or severely immunocompromised may get one additional dose of updated COVID-19 vaccine two or more months after the last updated COVID-19 vaccine.

Attention Nursing Homes

NHSN reporting will be updated, effective June 26, 2023, to reflect this change. Residents and healthcare personnel are considered up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations if they have received an updated (bivalent) vaccine(s). Learn more about NHSN reporting. Contact us with any questions.
