IPUL Now Accepting Applications for the Board of Directors

Idaho Parents Unlimited - Now Accepting Applications for the Board of Directors 


Board Members:

- Establish and maintain written policies

- Adopt an annual budget and review financial reports

- Approve or ratify the expenditures of IPUL

- Spread knowledge of who IPUL is and what we do

- Maintain, update and monitor mission statement, principles of operation, procedures and goals and objectives of IPUL

- Secure adequate funds; participate in fund-raising activities, including making an annual personal gift

- The majority of members are parents of children with a disability

- Annually review the performance of IPUL’s Executive Director


One two-day face-to-face annual meeting and three quarterly board meetings (virtual).

Term: 3 years


IPUL Mission: Idaho Parents Unlimited, Inc., supports, empowers, educates and advocates to enhance the quality of life for Idahoans with disabilities and their families.


IPUL Vision: Idaho Parents Unlimited, Inc. envisions inclusive and accessible communities, services, education, and opportunities for children and youth with disabilities and/or unique and special healthcare needs.

National Hobby Month


Hobbies are skill-building activities that relax and inspire you on a regular basis. Sometimes a good hobby can be considered therapeutic. What are some hobbies you enjoy? Here are a few different types listed:

- Gardening

- Chess

- Photography

- Cooking

- Knitting

- Playing an instrument

- Creative writing

- Singing and more...

National Slow Cooking Month


Mac and Cheese


INGREDIENTS:

- Cooking spray

- 8 oz elbow macaroni, uncooked

- One can 12oz evaporated milk- 

- 1 1/2 cups whole milk

- 1/4 cup of butter, melted (1/4 cup = 1/2 stick)

- Two 10oz bricks sharp Cheddar cheese, grated

- 1 tsp salt


DIRECTIONS

- Spray crockpot with cooking spray.

- Mix in macaroni, evaporated milk, milk, butter, salt, pepper, and all but 1/2 cup of the grated cheese.

- Spread the left over cheese on top.

- Cover and cook on low heat for 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Macarrones con Queso


INGREDIENTES

Spray para cocinar

8 oz de macarrones con codo, sin cocer

Una lata de leche evaporada de 12 oz.

1 1/2 tazas de leche entera

1/4 taza de mantequilla, derretida (1/4 taza = 1/2 barra)

Dos ladrillos de 10 oz de queso Cheddar fuerte, rallado

1 cucharadita de sal


DIRECCIONES

Rocíe la olla eléctrica con aceite en aerosol.

Mezcle los macarrones, la leche evaporada, la leche, la mantequilla, la sal, la pimienta y todo menos 1/2 taza de queso rallado.

Extienda el queso sobrante encima.

Tape y cocine a fuego lento durante 3 horas y 15 minutos.

Did you know you can drop in to paint in our READY-TO-PAINT POTTERY studio? We have ceramic pieces for $1 and up with no hidden studio, glaze or firing fee. The pieces shown were less than $5.00!

You can also drop in to use the tables, easels, paper cutters, etc. in our COMMUNITY ART CENTER'S QUAD (reserve if more than 6 in your group). Just bring a project or purchase something from our ART SUPPLY STORE and hang out.

Parent Leadership Development Institute 2023

All expenses (lodging, travel, and meals) to attend PLDI are covered by Idaho Parents Unlimited.


- Do you live in regions 1 & 2?


- Do you want to influence change or policies affecting services for children with disabilities?


- Can you see yourself, as a parent, sharing your story to a professional group?


Participants will be asked to:

- Attend the 4.5 day, in person, overnight institute

- Participate in bi-monthly follow up calls and activities

- Establish mentors and set goals


Application deadline: February 17, 2023. Candidates will be contacted following submission of their application to schedule an interview. Selections will be notified via email by February 28th, 2023.
