THIS WEEK AT ST JOHN'S

Dear Friends:

This coming Sunday, the Fourth Sunday of Easter in the Christian calendar, marks the transition in our scripture readings from appearances of the Risen Christ to what we call Good Shepherd Sunday. Jesus says his relationship with his followers is like a shepherd with his sheep.

I love everything about it. We will sing, "The Lord's My Shepherd" and "The King of Love My Shepherd Is." This analogy is easy to appreciate even if you are not well-acquainted with sheep. It says caring, guiding, protecting, and loving. In Psalm 23, we are the ones who lie down in "green pastures" - feeling safely protected by God's love. God is with us in hard times - even if they are "the valley of the shadow of death."

Come and be part of beautiful worship that expresses God's love: This Sunday 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.

PS This Sunday is our final service with Karen McBride as St John's Ministry Intern. Please join us as we express our thanks and wish her well. Reception follows the 10:15 service.
