"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it"

ASK, SEEK, KNOCK

Jesus spoke a strong word of promise in Luke 11:9-10 where he said “Ask, and it shall be given you. Seek and ye shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” This same quote is also found in Matthew 7:7-8, however the Matthew passage lacks the context for this promise.

Luke defines the specific context in which Jesus is speaking. We find it in four preceding verses (5-8). Jesus is speaking of persistence.

The story tells of a man and his children who are awakened at midnight by a friend who was furiously knocking at his door, asking for bread. The man does not give the bread but tells the friend to leave him alone. This is not an opportune timing. However, the friend is persistent in seeking and asking for the bread. Because the friend will not stop, the man gives him what he was asking for, namely, the bread.

The same principle is found in the story of “the unjust judge” in Luke 18:1-5 where a judge gave a widow her petition because of her persistence.

What can we understand from these two stories? We see in each one that the request was not immediately granted. The seeker had to continue to seek, ask, and knock before receiving the request.

I have heard it taught that when you pray and ask God for something, that you should believe it so strongly that you should not ask a second time. In this parable Jesus goes from the unjust judge to the importune friend and teaches how to receive from God. The world’s way is to keep asking, but in Luke 11:9-10 says, “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Then in Matthew 7:11 He says, “If ye then, being evil, (like the unjust judge and the importune friend) know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”

It is true that you might get it the first time by your unwavering faith, but many times that

is not the case. Jesus says that in faith believe that your petition will be answered. Sometimes the answer is “no,” or “not yet,” for reasons known to God. However, if it is a good thing, it will come to you as you seek, but it will come in God’s timing. Be careful to ask within His will as you see in the word, and not through fleshly desires.

By asking, seeking, and knocking He will answer. Not receiving immediately is not a lack of faith. Faith in action is waiting until you receive.

THE PREPARED SOIL

If you have ever planted a garden, then you know to have successful crops you must prepare the soil before you plant the seed. You can’t plant seed in ground that is hard or fallow. Fallow ground means ground that has been tilled but left idle for a while. It may become hard, and the hard ground must be broken up and tilled for the seed to grow.

In Mark chapter 4 Jesus taught many parables, and one was about someone planting seed. He compares four different soils that had seed

planted in them. They were the wayside; stony; thorny; and good ground.

His message wasn’t just about the ground we plant a garden in. His message was referring to a person’s heart, the place God’s seed is planted within. Most of the people that Jesus taught were either farmers or fishermen. They understood about planting seed.

The wayside would be like planting along a road. There would be no way for the seed to grow because the ground would not receive any seed. The birds found the seed on top of the ground and ate the seed. Jesus explained to his disciples that the birds represented Satan. He steals the seed immediately when it is planted carelessly into a heart. The seed, which is the word of God, is stolen before it has a chance to grow.

The stony ground would be like hardened untilled ground. Because it had become hardened, it would not receive any seed. It has no root system and will be like a person that gets offended at the least problems, persecution or affliction. Because there is no root they don’t know the word well enough to keep it in their heart. The seed dies.

The thorny ground are those that are more concerned with worldly things. They are not interested in the deep things of God. They are concerned with the world’s riches and things that keep them in bondage instead of God. Because of this they are unfruitful in their walk with God.

The good ground is ground that has been tilled and prepared. As it says in Hosea 10: 12, “Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.” The fallow, idle ground of their heart has been tilled and plowed, ready to receive the seed. It will bring forth fruit. Some thirtyfold (30 times what was sown) some sixty, (sixty times what was sown) and some an hundred (a hundred times what was sown). This is the ground that produces fruit, and what Jesus is looking for. He wants you to prepare your heart to receive His Word, and then bring forth fruit. How do we prepare the ground of our heart? We repent of sin, we daily seek God through reading His Word, and we act on it. This kind of heart is soft. It is able to receive from God. It doesn’t get easily offended, and treats the seed planted with care. It is fruitful.

PROPHETIC WORD

AS GIVEN TO HELEN SANDERS

What would you have me say, saith the Lord? What would you have me say? For I have spoken to you time and time again to come into my presence and spend time with me, but there have been many times that you have failed to do so. You want to hear a word from me, but it will only come through spending time in my presence. You must remember that My Sheep hear My Voice. If you are not hearing, perhaps you have not taken the time to listen. For this is the hour of great shifting and shaking where you must spend time alone with me. It must be a priority of your daily walk my child. For like a little child that loves its father, you must climb up into Abba’s arms and just sit here and let me touch you and hold you. For there are many things that I would like to say, but you must quiet yourself to hear. You must shut out the noise of those things that are distractions if you are to hear my voice. You must shut out all things that would hinder you from hearing. Yes, there are good things to do my child, but they should never be a priority over spending time with me. Oh, that my children would come to their Father and just sit at my feet. I have much that I want to teach them, but they are distracted with so many things. For the hour we are in is an hour of deception. If you don’t take the time to come and be with me then you may fall into the enemy’s traps that he has set for you. He has every intention of seeing you fail in your walk. He will not stop my child so take time to come, and just sit still until you hear my voice. Be serious about your love for me. I am about to send my son to receive his bride, but she must not be complacent about his coming. She must long for him and long for the Father like never before. Oh, my children, take the time to be quiet. For have I not said, “Be still and know that I am God?” For how can you hear with your mind full of other things. Let this be the day that you choose to set at my feet quietly and wait for me to speak. I love you my child and I have much to share with you. Come now, and let us spend time together.

PROPHECTIC EXHORTATION

3-16-2023

Be careful when God allows you to move out or to move up and possess something new…Or even to meet new folks. One thing you especially need to be on guard concerning and that is…You must be certain not to allow yourself to become entangled too quickly with the "inhabitants" of that “new place” as Israel did. We read about this in Exodus 14: 3 “For Pharaoh will say of the sons of Israel, ‘They are wandering aimlessly in the land; They became entangled and the wilderness (desert) has shut them in.’” Just remember that…Sometimes the very PERSON or THING you THOUGHT you WANTED or NEEDED; Will be the one that ends up ENSLAVING you!

   We're Together Lord! HCC

You're my rock, my friend, my shelter,

My fortress and my helper, my comforter.

There is no end to what you are to me.

When I look around, I see,

The actions of many, that are not of you.

Shall we pray for them Lord?

I know you will say yes.

Is there any repentance out there?

                           I can only guess.

I will keep on praying Lord,

For our World to see the light.

I’ll pray for them to see your glory,

                           And to see your might.

I’ll pray for all to help me,

To tell others of your love.

                          Maybe there will be revival?

That would be a blessing from above.

Repentance Lord is what we need.

Our sins are, Oh, so many!

Forgiveness then will follow,

Your light will shine on many.
