We are once again OPEN to the public!! That’s right, we are welcoming back our pet-loving visitors! You no longer need an appointment to come to meet the pets in our care.
Meet our first non-appointment adopters! They adopted Anna May on March 4!
Our Adoption Center has been appointment-only since March 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions and because our facility was under construction for most of 2021. Come visit our cat areas, meet small critters, and learn about the many adoptable dogs in our care. We still encourage our potential adopters to visit our website before coming to visit to learn about our adoptable pets – www.heritagehumane.org/adopt.

Our adoption hours are 12pm – 4:30pm daily. 
Our brand new retail store is OPEN! Come visit the lobby in our Adoption Center to see our newly renovated store! We have something for everyone (pets and pet-lovers)! There are pet toys, treats, and supplies for dogs, cats, and small critters!

All proceeds benefit the homeless pets in our care! That's right, when you shop here you are supporting our lifesaving mission. Come by between noon and 4:30 pm daily.

Dog Walkers & Fido Field Trips Needed!
We currently have over 60 dogs and puppies in our care! If you are trained at dog walking, please help us by signing up for our daily dog walks at the shelter. The walks are at 8 am, 12 pm, and 2:30 pm daily. You can sign up online by CLICKING HERE.

Our dog handlers can also sign up for Fido Field Trips! With the weather getting warmer, it is the perfect time to take an adoptable dog to the park or Colonial Williamsburg. Email volunteer@heritagehumane.org for more information.
Happy Tails to Allison! She was adopted on March 2 after being at the shelter for 134 days! Seen in the photo is a volunteer named Amanda Ibrahim. She came multiple times a week to play and walk with Allison!
Small Critters!
We have LOTS of wiggly noses, floppy ears, and veggie lovers at HHS right now! We currently have 5 bunnies, 2 guinea pigs, 1 gerbil, and 3 rats in our care.
