Here are the latest opportunities to strengthen
your faith and connect with the community.

A Time of Firsts

The month of February has been a time of first within the Synod. The staff and conveners gathered in retreat at Honor’s Haven, Ellenville, NY, February 22nd – 24th. The conversation was facilitated by LeaderWise Consultant Dr. Okokon Udo. During the retreat, I had the privilege of meeting the leadership for the first time in person. It was a joy to truly see one another and breathe the same air. We reviewed the New Way Forward Vision and discussed new starting places and next steps.

2022 Triennium Alternatives

As you know, the 2022 Triennium was canceled.  However, several presbyteries are considering sponsoring Triennium alternatives this year so that this opportunity is not missed.  The Synod is committed to contributing the same funding to these alternatives as we would have if Triennium had been held.  This includes a $100 scholarship for all youth participants as well as a $100 scholarship for all chaperones.  To find out more, please check with your presbytery to see what they are planning.

Early Ministry Institute 2022, May 23- 26, 2022

Early Ministry Institute is a three-year program of the Synod of the Northeast. Each year there is a week-long residency at Stony Point Center. The participants meet all together in plenary, in workshops, and in year-cohort groups which are “advised” by experienced clergy and ruling elders. The goal of EMI is to meet the more practical needs of people in their first calls.

We will be in-person at the Honors Haven Retreat and Conference Center in Ellenville, NY. The participant fee of $375 includes all meals and accommodations in single rooms. Financial Assistance is available for all those that might need it. We hope you will consider making the three-year commitment to attend the Early Ministry Institute to support your own self-care and ministry. For more information visit the Synod website.
