UPK KEY DATES

April 19: Final day for providers to increase or decrease seats before the first algorithm runs

April 22: First algorithm runs*

April 23: Providers receive their proposed matches as a result of the algorithm

April 23–May 7: Provider review period

May 9–15: Families receive their matches and must either accept or decline

May 16–24: Providers may increase or decrease seats as needed

July 5: Second and final DAA will run


*Note: The algorithm will NOT take into account continuity of care as that was addressed in the pre-registration period. All families who are running through the matching algorithm will do so based on their assigned lottery number, and no other factors will be considered.

To increase or decrease UPK seats, please contact Noreen at nglt@mac.com. If families need assistance with their applications, please ask them to contact UPK@jointinitiatives.com so that our family navigators can help.


YEAR-END PROVIDER PAYMENT RECONCILIATION

As the first UPK year draws to an end, it is imperative that all outstanding payment issues are resolved. Provider must report any outstanding payment issues as soon as possible to Metrix IQ by submitting a ticket at coupkpayments@metrixiq.com. If a provider has submitted a ticket that has not yet been resolved, please reach out to Noreen at nglt@mac.com so it can be passed along to our LCO specialist.


CHILDREN WITH IEPS

Please reach out to your AU for placement updates.


NEW UPK PROVIDERS

Please be sure to contact MetrixIQ to set up your payment account so that you are ready to go for August! Open up a ticket at coupkpayments@metrixiq.com.


UPK QUALITY STANDARDS

The UPK Quality Standards have been finalized and can be found toward the bottom of the JI UPK page HERE.


CDEC E-COMMUNICATIONS

The Colorado Department of Early Childhood is changing over to a new platform for their e-communications. Please sign up on the new platform HERE to continue to receive all of the UPK communications directly from the state.

ROUNDTABLE

JOIN US!

The JI/UPK team’s monthly Roundtable will be held on April 18th (11:00 am for school districts, 1:00 pm for centers and 6:00 pm for family child care). The agenda will consist of CDEC updates and updates for the 2024-25 UPK year. We highly recommend registering for the April session, visiting the UPK page, and/or watching past Roundtable recordings to seek answers to commonly asked questions.
