Burt Chernow Gallery & Housatonic Art Museum

at Housatonic Community College

--About our Visit--

This is a special event. The Housatonic Art Museum is a hidden gem of an art center overlooked by the public. We're fortunate to have as our host, the museum’s director, Jennifer Reynolds-Kaye, PhD.

Jennifer will lead us through the current exhibits in the gallery. She'll discuss Chernow's extraordinary achievement in establishing the gallery and assembling a stunning collection of modern art donated by world renown artists. Much of that collection is displayed throughout the school.

Local Westport artist Miggs Burroughs will join us. He has two pieces in their permanent collection.

Admission is free of charge. RSVP is not necessary.

--Lunch--

Lunch has been arranged for 12:00 at Ralph-n-Rich’s, a top-rated restaurant. Located at 815 Main Street, Bridgeport, it's a short walk from the Gallery.

RSVP for lunch is necessary.

Housatonic Community College - 900 Lafayette Boulevard, Bridgeport, CT

Exit 27 off I-95 to Lafayette Blvd/Harbor Yard

Use right lane to merge onto Frontage Street. (0.1 miles)

Left on Lafayette to large covered parking lot at 900 Lafayette. (0.3 miles)

No charge for parking

We'll meet in the lobby of the gallery located in the main administration building. You'll see that building from the parking lot. Slant left from the lot to the entrance.
