NEST is reaching new heights!

The New England Weather Balloon Society is dedicated to the collaborative and iterative process of building and launching high altitude balloons to the edge of space to take instrumentation readings, record video footage, and conduct experiments. Hosted by New England Sci-Tech, the club brings together youth and engineers to work on exciting projects and launches.
Outreach to local schools!

Bob recently taught 10 science classes about the electromagnetic spectrum at Claypitt Hill School in Wayland. Hopefully some of the nearly 100 students might find the ham radio spectrum appealing! Bob also brought STEM demos to school science fairs in Weston and Wayland, and this spring will bring the traveling planetarium to the Wellesley Public Library and Tenacre School.
GOOD NEWS! This year's Cubes-in-Space team has their project accepted for flight on a NASA rocket to launch in June. The student project will test the viability of dehydrated blood as an emergency resource on a long space mission. A specialized activity of NE SciTech’s Space Science Club, specifically for students ages 11-17, Cubes in Space™ (CIS), a program by idoodledu inc., teaches students about the atmosphere, rocketry, high-altitude balloons, general laws of physics, and space science. Students work in teams to design and propose experiments to launch into space or a near space environment on a NASA sounding rocket and zero-pressure scientific balloon.
The Cubes in Space program enrollment period has ended. Next year's enrollment opens in November. The CIS program runs December through June.
