"My [favorite] memory with Achilles is running as a guide in the 2021 New York City Marathon for my daughter Samantha, who lives with autism. This memory means so much to us. Samantha became the youngest female with autism to cross the finish line. Our next marathon will be Chicago with Team Achilles. Thank you for all that you do. We are proud to be part of Achilles."

We're proud to partner with Google on its groundbreaking Project Guideline research. In November of 2022, six Achilles International Japan athletes who are blind or living with low vision took turns in a relay run (Ekiden, in Japanese) to complete a full 26.2 mile marathon distance with a final time of 4:29:44 without any guides! They completed the run using early stage technology being researched on an automobile test course in Japan, where two straight sections of 500 meters each were measured and marked with a purple-colored tape.
