Fighting for Life at the Capitol!
Our Bill Makes a Mail-Order Abortion a Felony
Greetings!

The Legislative Session began yesterday, and we have already been at the Capitol to fight for life!

There are many important bills we are supporting this session. Our first priority is ensuring Louisiana law is ready for Roe v. Wade to be overturned, allowing us to protect all babies. We are also supporting the Louisiana Heartbeat Act that mirrors the Texas law that is saving babies right now.

Another priority for us is stopping the online mail-order sale of chemical abortion pills (see TV interview on this). These pills are being ordered online and shipped to women in Louisiana without a prescription or a doctor's exam, placing the woman and the baby in danger. While that is currently illegal in Louisiana, our new "Stopping Illegal Sale of Chemical Abortion Act" authored by Senator Sharon Hewitt (R-Slidell) makes this a felony against those who sell the pill, strengthening the state's ability to stop this dangerous practice both now and if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

In addition, we have legislation to safeguard a patient's right to obtain life-sustaining care, legislation to promote transparency in vaccines that are produced with abortion-derived cells, and legislation to increase education about adoption in public schools.

We will have a busy few months to say the least before session concludes June 6. Please reach out to your State Senator and Representative and encourage them to support our package of pro-life legislation! Be on the lookout for more action alerts in the coming weeks!

For a Pro-Life Louisiana,
Benjamin Clapper
