I have played for hundreds of funerals over the years. However, this past month, I was asked to speak at a funeral for the first time. Hal was a member of my choir and worked tirelessly to promote the choir and was always coming up with new ideas to bring us closer together in community. It was an uplifting service, but I wondered who would take Hal's place. Who would step up and be one of the worker bees? I'm sure in your congregation, you have people you can always count on to volunteer, help clean after an event, and be the first to arrive and the last to leave. What about our organization, the Detroit AGO? Could you step up and help ensure we not only survive but thrive? We are assembling names for the next class of Board members. If you feel like you are at a point where you could give a little more of your time and would be willing to serve, please send me an email.
