How Does the Auction Work?
  • The Auction will operate like an eBay Auction, and participants will get notices when they’ve been outbid.
  • There will also be “Buy Now” options on most of the items being auctioned.
  • Auction items are organized in a Category order. Items can be viewed all together in this Category order, or they can be viewed in their separate Category group by selecting a specific Category in the far right selection window.
  • The Search Window can be used only for searching for a particular word in an Auction item Title.
  • When viewing Auction items, the display area loads a few Auction items at a time. When you reach the bottom of the Auction item display area, click on the "View More" button to load more of the Auction items in the group.
  • Auction items that include alcohol will only be sold to purchasers who are at least 21 years of age.
  • When the Auction closes, participants will be notified by email as to whether or not they have won any items that they have bid on.
  • Auction item winners can pick up the items they have won at a date and time that will be announced.

If you have not already done so, create an account in MemberHub in advance. This will allow you to act quickly on Buy It Now items and overall bidding. For any questions, please send email to: gcm2023SilentAuction@gmail.com. All proceeds support Senior graduation activities. Get your bids ready!

Helping Your Kids Build a Life They Want: Parent Talk with Authors Dr. William Stixrud and Ned Johnson

6:30 – 7:30 PM
McLean High School Auditorium
No registration needed!
We all want our kids to be happy and successful in life. Too often, many parents feel that if kids aren’t pushed harder, they won’t be successful.  But this can result in anxiety and depression, chronic stress, and a negative parent-child relationship.
Instead, let’s help our kids build a life they want – a life where success is defined by happiness, strong relationships, and overall wellness, and not simply by academic and career achievement. Bill and Ned will share strategies parents can use to help our kids achieve this life!
We welcome all Dranesville District FCPS parents to attend this informative session. If you are interested in learning about Bill and Ned’s work, please check out this podcast on achievement culture, as well as their books, linked below.
