Reinhard Dammann, together with Marc Sénéchal, recently published a book that provides an overview for practitioners on all aspects of international insolvency law, including issues relating to the competence of courts to open main or secondary insolvency proceedings. Special chapters are devoted to conflict of laws questions, the effectiveness of security interests, the insolvency of financial institutions and the regime of the guarantee fund for employees. The book also integrates the lessons to be learned from pleading the Nortel case before the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and addresses the potential consequences of Brexit. The Hon. Joan N. Feeney received the Boston Bar Association's Charles P. Normandin Award for Lifetime Achievement on May 24, 2018. The award was presented by College Fellow Hon. Christopher J. Panos. The award is named for the late Charles P. Normandin (Class I) who died in December 2005. 
The Hon. Robert E. Nugent III (U.S. Bankrupcty Court, District of Kansas) became Chief Judge of the 10th Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel on July 1, 2018.
Prof. Ignacio Tirado has been appointed as Secretary General of UNIDROIT, a 92-year old multilateral legal institution based in Rome devoted to harmonization of law, particularly commercial law, across borders. Tirado will take up his post at the end of this summer.
