He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
In this week’s text, the Prophet Micah is speaking to the people of Israel not only warning them of their future if they continue to disobey God, but also telling them what the Lord requires, and desires of them: To do justice, to love kindness, and walk humble with your Lord. Perhaps thinking about what the Lord desires of us also encourages us to develop a holistic spirituality that includes the parts of our faith that are not usually in our wheelhouse. For Micah 6:8 connects our faith with our actions, our care for those in need with our walk with God: “What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Join us the Sunday was we take a look at Micah and what it means for us today! What does the Lord require of you?
