Many faculty and staff of the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications provided sessions for students and their teachers. Others helped by providing critiques. Thanks to Steve Rottinghaus, Al Wallace, Patricia Gaston, Carol Holstead, Genelle Belmas, Peter Bobkowski, Ted Cotti and Gerri Berendzen for their help. More than 300 students attended the conference. At the conference, Lawrence High School student Cuyler Dunn earned the Kansas Student Journalist of the Year Award. Dunn plans to attend the KU J-School in the fall. He was surprised by the announcement and was joined by his parents, siblings, journalism teacher and fellow students from Lawrence High School. (Photo: Culyer Dunn accepted the Kansas Student Journalist of the Year Award with his adviser Barb Tholen of Lawrence High School.)
