Are you a fun person, a good conversationalist, and have a generally likable personality? Then, you qualify to be a Crew Leader for VBS!

Crew Leaders do not have to prepare anything in advance, study the lesson, or prepare a lot of supplies. Crew Leaders are assigned 5 kids to shepherd for the whole week of VBS. You and your Fabulous Five will meet up each day in Large Group, and then travel from Station to Station together doing crafts, games and experiencing Bible stories. The kids that attend our VBS can feel safe - physically, spiritually and emotionally - because their Crew Leader will always be with them.

Because we keep the ratio so small, we will need 64 Crew Leaders to staff our 1-5th Grade VBS this year. We also need 10 Crew Leaders to staff our 6th Grade VBS!

Crew Leaders must be an adult or a student who has completed 8th Grade. Adults (age 19 and up) will need to complete a background check.

For Volunteer and/or Participant Registration go to this link: REGISTER FOR VBS

Crew Leaders are one of the key ingredients that makes this outreach event so effective. Yes, it takes a sacrifice of your time and energy, but it is worth the sacrifice! Please pray about being part of the plan to reach our community for Christ!
Kids are continuing to work on their Bible Skills. Your child can participate by letting us know when they are ready to "pass off" on a certain skill!

Bible Skill Awards will be presented on Sunday evening, May 19th, 6:00 PM.

Kindergarten can participate in the Monthly Memory Verses!

February was a month devoted to getting badges. The Tenderhearts earned the badge Textile Arts where they had lots of fun making woven bowls, painting on canvas and more. The Explorers worked on getting the World Languages badge by trying snacks that other children eat in countries that speak Spanish, learning numbers in Spanish, learning the months in Spanish, and also the days of the week in Spanish. The PiPas worked on the Home Care and Repair badge by learning how to repair a hole in the wall and how to make a picture frame using a saw.

March was filled with many fun events starting with the Father daughter dance. Every girl had a great time spending time with their dad. The theme of the dance was Dancing through the Decades and the girls and their dads dressed up in costumes from every decade.

Next we had the mother daughter event at the Breakout Room which was tons of fun.

At the end of the month the PiPas had a three night campout at Lake Guntersville. We had fun kayaking on the lake and watching the ducks on the lake. So these two months have been very busy with fun events in AHG!
