April Mission Focus:

Baskets for Migrants

April Mission this year is The Migrant Baskets. This is a new mission we took on last year and it was a huge success.

Our contact is Mary Carmen Padillar from Hayes United Methodist church in Fremont Ohio.

We learned that there is a need for items for migrants coming here with nothing but a backpack to works the fields in our area.

They often come as a family. The children 10 to 12 years old work the fields leaving the younger ones with nothing to do.

Our contributions help with donations like hygiene items, sun block, first aid items etc. Your contribution helps in a very large way.

Below is a list of new items you can contribute:

  • Garden Gloves (Men's/Women's M-L)
  • Lightweight blankets
  • Baseball cap with neck covering
  • Long sleeve, thin, cotton pull over shirts
  • Water Thermos
  • Shampoo/Conditioner
  • Lunch Pouches/Boxes
  • Laundry Detergent/Softener
  • Towels--bath, face, wash
  • Laundry Baskets

Teacher’s Toolbox

The last delivery of Teacher's Toolbox for this school year was delivered March 22 with 14 teachers receiving over 130 items. Some of those items were 24 set boxes of crayons, so the tally would be much more if counted individually. The Waterville Primary School teachers have been blessed by the generosity of our congregation, and they even share prayer requests with the group that delivers the bags.

This ongoing ministry has been a huge success; you are welcome to donate all through the year. Thanks to all who give so generously. You can find the Teacher’s Toolbox cart in the Gathering Place near the prayer table.

ONGOING WUMC MISSIONS!

  • Susie’s Coats and Hannah's Socks
  • Teacher’s Toolbox
  • Used ink cartridges
  • Empty PB jars
  • McDonald’s House Pop tabs
