A message from our Missions Pastor

Hey Legacy Family,

God has already been good to us this 2023 year! So many testimonies of how people are sharing their faith with others, which stirs up my soul! We are seeing full classrooms of people interested in short-term mission trips and Kairos interest meetings. We are seeing more participation with Food Pak boxes and BSM at UTD, and I can say His Spirit is stirring us forward! Thank you, Legacy, for being on mission with “Everyone. Everywhere. All the time.” Read about the Real Options Family Fest in the Looking Ahead to April section to see more opportunities to serve.

Personal Evangelism Class, aka PEC, is back! This is a conversational class that will challenge us to carry the message of Christ in a personal way. If you have the desire to share your faith, but don’t know where to begin, this class is for you. If you are someone who shares your faith and would like to add to the conversation, this class is for you. If you are somewhere in between, this class is for you. I have a deep desire to see this class full so that more people are activated to be on mission with “Everyone. God continues to open doors for us here at Legacy with Church Planters. As you know, we have a calling one day to plant a church from Legacy Plano to where God directs. Until that day comes, we partner with church plants, which happens to be the most rapid way that people are coming into a relationship with Christ in our culture today. Within the past two months, we have met a church planting team led by Pastor David Lee. This is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual church that was looking for space to meet and launch their church, called ICON Church. As we began to build a relationship with Pastor David Lee and the ICON team, we prayed and felt the Spirit leading us to open our doors for ICON Church to begin their story here in our building. We believe they will be great partners in our community and most of all, Kingdom partners. As we begin this season of Lent let us continue to keep our hearts and minds focused on prayer. Below you will be able to see our new Prayer Initiative, which is guiding us in this year of mission. If you have any questions about the prayer initiatives or if you find yourself needing a prayer partner in anything, please feel free to reach out to anyone on our Legacy team!  

We are asking you, Legacy Church, to join us in prayer all year long. Each month throughout 2023, we will focus on specific prayer initiatives for our church to pray over, together. In March, our prayer focus is on the strength and health of Legacy Church.

Revelations 3:1-6, the words of the Lord to the church in Sardis were a wake-up call to His sleeping bride, who had forgotten her commitment to her lover and had not been found faithful in fulfilling her duties. Still today, the Lord is calling His church to awaken from her slumber and strengthen that which remains and is about to die. Just like the five foolish virgins who took no extra oil for their lamps (Matthew 25:1-13), the Lord is calling out to awaken His bride before the lamps go out. There are unfinished works to be completed (Revelations 3:2). The Lord is calling to His church to remember the truth she had once received and heard, holding fast to it. We are losing the truth to culture, society, politics, and the cares of life. We are so complacent and lukewarm, that we have lost our zeal and desires. No wonder we do not see much of God’s movement in our days. The Bridegroom is calling to His bride “AWAKE”.

• Pray that Those Who Turn to Christ are Strengthened
• Pray for Those Inside & Outside our Church Who are Going Through Sickness – be that Physical, Emotional, or Spiritual
