CDW OFFERS SPRING TRAINING COURSES
Community Development Works, a program of The Rapides Foundation, is offering its free skill-building training schedule for Cenla residents and nonprofits. Webinars and workshops began March 21 and run through May 16. Click HERE to see all of the spring trainings available and to register.
ELEVEN ADMINISTRATORS COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Eleven Central Louisiana public school administrators have completed Leading for Better Instruction, a three-year instructional leadership program that aims to improve classroom instruction and student achievement. The goal of the program is to develop instructional leaders, not just managers, to lead schools throughout Central Louisiana.
DIABETES PREVENTION SUPPORT GROUP BEGINS IN APRIL IN WINN PARISH
The Healthy Lifestyle Program is looking for Central Louisiana residents to take part in a proven program to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. Recruitment is underway for the group that will begin April 26 in Winn Parish. The 12-month Diabetes Prevention Program is a yearlong support group being offered in the region to eligible participants.
FOUNDATION LAUNCHES 'TREAT YOURSELF CENLA' HEALTHY BEHAVIORS CAMPAIGN
The Rapides Foundation launched its Treat Yourself Cenla campaign in February with the objective of positively impacting the Central Louisiana region by providing resources to help improve three key health status factors: eating better, moving more and breathing freely. WEE CAMP RECRUITMENT UNDERWAY
Recruitment is underway for educators interested in participating in The Orchard Foundation's 2023 Workplace Experience Exchange (WEE) Camps. The deadline to apply is April 27.

WEE Camp I is for educators and counselors who work with students in grades 7-12, and WEE Camp Elementary is for educators who work with students in grades Pre-K-6. Both programs are 5 days and provide WEE Camp participants with the opportunity to visit local businesses to learn about available careers in Central Louisiana. WEE Camp I will be held June 5-9 and WEE Camp Elementary will be held June 12-16.
