Action Center Announcements | |
There are a few late-start classes that begin Monday, March 20. View the Spring schedule of classes here.
If you need help or have questions, please reach out to your faculty advisor (email information is located on your portal main page) or contact advising@wvncc.edu.
Please note:
- Book vouchers for Spring 2023 have already ended. If a student needs a book for the late-starting course before the course begins or on the first day of the course, the student will need to purchase the books themselves.
- Students adding late starting courses will need to email the financial aid office at financialaidoffice@wvncc.edu to request the late starting courses be included in their aid package for the semester. This is due to the fact that we have already locked financial aid hours for Spring 2023, so any adjustments to this point have to be manually made.
- Any potential Pell Grant funds that could be awarded for the additional course(s) will be paid once the instructor reports the student attending the course. This usually takes about a week to two weeks for students to see any additional funds.

Spring Break Safety Tips
Here are some Spring Break Safety Tips that can help whether you stay in town or go abroad.
-
Arrive Safely – Many people while on spring break are driving at night or through the night. But the National Safety Council says traffic death rates are three times greater at night than during the day. If you can’t avoid night driving, have at least one person stay awake to talk to driver.
-
Be smart about who you give personal information out to – don’t tell new acquaintances your address, hotel or room number. You never know who has innocent or dangerous intentions.
-
The Buddy System – it works! We do NOT recommend you leave a party with a stranger, it’s always best to take a friend with you. If for whatever reason you do leave without your friends, give them details about where you’re going and when to expect you back.
-
Practice safe drinking – take turns so that one friend in the group per night will plan on minimal drinking to look out for everyone. Other good habits – watching your cup or glass, and only accept drinks that you’ve watched get made or poured in front of you.
