February is Love Your Library Month!
It's Love Your Library month, and the Friends of the Mercer Public Library have planned some fun activities and displays to help you make the most of it!

Stop by to pick up a Reading Challenge tic-tac-toe card, tell us why you love your library and get one of our adorable ❤️ bear stickers, or take a chance on a 'blind date with a book.' You might just find a new literary love! There are plenty of ways to show your love for the library, too. Visit our website for more details.

Ultimately, though, the best way to show that you value your library is to use it! Stop by and check out some items, attend a program, use our digital collections... it all adds up.

Happy February, everyone! Hope we'll see you soon,

Teresa Schmidt

Day of Appreciation

As part of our Love Your Library month celebration, the Friends of the Library are sponsoring a "Day of Appreciation" on Thursday, February 10. Drop in between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and make some cards that you can send to the people you appreciate. The Friends will provide card making supplies, pre-made cards, and even the postage!
Computer Classes

The library will offer two scheduled computer classes this month. Both classes are free and open to all levels. Bring your questions!

  • Microsoft Office: How to Mail Merge - Monday, February 7 at 11:30 a.m.
  • "Ditch the Dish!" Streaming Media 101 - Thursday, February 24 at 11:30 a.m.

Remember that tech help appointments are available for your other questions, too. We schedule tech appointments on most Tuesdays or other days as needed. Call for an appointment with librarian Teresa Schmidt, 715-476-2366.
Knitting at the library

An informal group of knitters, crocheters, and other crafters will meet at the library on Tuesday mornings (note the schedule!) at 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to drop in! Bring a work in progress, show off your completed projects, or just enjoy the company of your fellow crafters.
February Book Club schedule

Our two Book Clubs each meet once a month, and new members are always welcome. Copies of the books are available to borrow from the library.

Library Covid policies

Following the latest recommendations from the CDC and the Iron County Health Department, masks are recommended for all library visitors.

Please do not enter the library if you are exhibiting any symptoms of concern, including cough, congestion, shortness of breath, sore throat, fever or chills, fatigue, muscle aches, or a new loss of taste or smell. Please also do not visit the library if you have been instructed by your doctor or public health officials to isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure or diagnosis.

Our WiFi network is available 24/7 and is accessible from the parking lot and our outdoor seating area. You can place holds on the items you're looking for using your library card number and our online catalog. Curbside pickup is available to anyone by request. Just call us at 715-476-2366 to let us know what you need, and we'll be happy to help.
