This past February, the students in the Department of Physiology and Anatomy created a new department student group called The PHANatics. The purpose of this group is to provide social, educational, career, and networking opportunities for students in the Structural Anatomy and Rehabilitation Sciences (SARS) and Integrative Physiology disciplines. These are the group’s elected officers:
President: Rauchelle Richey
Vice-President: Taylor Robertson
Secretary: Jordan Gardner,
Treasurer: Selina Tucker
Historian: Viet Dinh
SARS Representative: Courtney Miller
Physiology Representative: Sal Essajee.
The first event hosted by the PHANatics was the Department Retreat held at Topgolf. The retreat featured university and department updates from Dean Mathis and Dr. Tune, scientific updates from the Cunningham, Gonzales, Maddux, and Mathis labs, a rousing game of Jeopardy, and finished with everyone’s golf skills put to the test. Thanks to everyone who attended and helped to make this event a success!

Trainee Office Completely Renovated
|
|
P&A is undergoing several renovation projects that will help to facilitate new goals within the department. The office suite in EAD-310 is finally complete and it is a hit! It is a new and improved space for trainees that also provides private offices for our faculty. The conference room is also complete and it houses state-of-the-art equipment to facilitate our lectures, seminars and lab and faculty meetings.
