Ribbon Cutting Ceremony -
3/22 3-5pm (plus After Party!)

Bellevue School District, Puesta del Sol Elementary and Puesta del Sol PTA invite you to a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating our new building!
FOOD TRUCK - SPECIAL PERFORMANCES - SCHOOL TOURS
Flamenco and Marimba will perform–there will also be a Mariachi Band!
This event is open to our families, staff, and local Bellevue community including our Puesta del Sol alumni.
Favorite food truck La Chingona Taqueria is coming, and special South American sweet treats will also be for sale.
Date: Wednesday, March 22
3-5pm: Ceremony, performances and tours
5-6pm: Extended post-event social hour (Playground and Picnic – bring your favorite camp chair and table!)
Until 7pm: La Chingona Taqueria will be at the school selling food

Fiesta Latina
We are excited to announce the return of Fiesta Latina with the amazing Angela De La Hoz as our instructor! Get inspired by the fun music and learn to dance! Fiesta Latina will help students improve coordination, boost confidence, and gain a deeper understanding of social dancing in the Latin American lifestyle! Students will move to the rhythms and beats of casual Latin dances like salsa, cumbia, bachata, merengue and reggaeton, while practicing their Spanish in a casual, fun and friendly way.

Flamenco - Session 3
Wednesdays After School, March 22 - May 24
Puesta del Sol Gym
Sign up for our final Flamenco Session of the year! Classes are held on Wednesdays starting March 22. The class ends with a performance at the combined International Festival/Art Fest on May 24. Newcomers welcomed. Class participation is capped at 25 - so don't delay in registering.

International Festival Amity Dance and Music Opportunity
Tuesdays, from 3:35 to 4:40 pm, Starting March 28 through May 23
International Festival and Amity Act Sign Ups - Each year for the International Festival celebrates the cultures of the Puesta del Sol Community through dance and music. This year is extra special - we are combining Art Fest with International Festival to make it more accessible and fun for our families. IF/Art Fest will happen on Wedensday May 24 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Puesta del Sol.
Students can join our fabulous interns Celia, Danilo, Erik and Erika in learning a dance/musical act from Spain, Colombia, and El Salvador to perform on the main stage at the festival. There is no cost to participate, though there are limited spots and kids will need a willingness to participate.

Spring Fundraiser
March 27th-April 7th, 2023
Puesta Del Sol
Our Apex Remix Glow Party fundraiser and leadership program kicks off on Monday, March 27th.
Apex is a local company that provides a fun two-week program where students will learn about important leadership habits and good character traits. Then the program wraps up with a celebratory, high energy fitness event: The Apex Remix Glow Party. It’s going to be a TON of FUN!
The funds raised from Puesta Del Sol's PTA fundraising events go towards:
- Helps fund half an Amity Intern's annual stipend
- Pays for half of the Art Appreciation expenses for the year
- Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum for K-1st grades and a visit from the Toymaker
- Garden Club supplies for all grades for the year
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion seminar
- Annual Reflections competition
- One student's portion of PTA programs and school support for the year
- PTA software expenses
- Art Appreciation supplies for one classroom
- Pays for one student's field trips and classroom experiences for the year
We’ll share more info about the Apex program and ways to support our school over the coming weeks.

¡PRÓXIMAMENTE! Nuestro programa de liderazgo y recaudación de fondos Fiesta de brillos remixde Apex comienza el 27 de Marzo.
Apex es una empresa local que ofrece un programa divertido de dos semanas donde los estudiantes aprenderán sobre importantes hábitos de liderazgo y buenos atributos de carácter. Luego, el programa concluye con un evento de acondicionamiento físico festivo y de mucha energía: Fiesta de brillos remix de Apex. ¡Va a haber un MONTÓN de DIVERSIÓN!

Host Families Needed for 2023-2024 School Year
The Amity Program offers interns a unique cultural and teaching experience at Puesta del Sol. We have four amazing interns this year who are serving in various classrooms.
We are looking for host families for the 2023-2024 school year. Hosting can be 3-6-9 month experience. If you are interested in learning about the program or hosting, or connecting to a current host family, please contact amity@puestadelsolpta.org.

Classroom photos are coming! Save the date for Thursday, March 23, 2023.

Bellevue Schools Foundation's Spring for Schools
Saturday, April 1, 2023 | 5:00-7:00pm
Meydenbauer Center
Join us for an evening of food, drinks, music, and a showcase of BSF donor funded programs. The funding raised at Spring for Schools 2023 will determine how much support the BSF can provide for critical programming at all 30 schools in Bellevue School District. The event will host business professionals, community leaders, and philanthropic donors who are committed to making sure that all 18,000+ students in Bellevue’s public schools have access to innovative programs and enrichment opportunities that will help them thrive in an increasingly competitive global market.
