Making a difference on and off the field
Thanks to a partnership between Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute (MSKI), Union County Public Schools (UCPS) and Atrium Health, high schools benefit from the expertise of athletic trainers.

Piedmont High School's athletic trainer, Kaitlyn Miles, found her profession by accident. She was a good student and played softball in high school, but college was a foreign concept. Miles was the first in her family to attend college and only knew she was fascinated by the human body and loved sports.
In case you missed it...
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) department is hosting free summer camps across the county to promote the many pathways schools offer.

This year, there are two camp offerings:
  • Middle school camps that concentrate on careers in particular areas of interest; and
  • High school camps for students who have completed at least one class to accelerate learning.

These camps are for current students enrolled in a middle or high school in Union County Public Schools. Registration deadline is May 15.
