For an agenda from the August 16 hearing, please click here.
Chief Financial Officer Holly Timms presented information regarding the setting of the millage rate and the process for school system funding. The first meeting took place on August 9 at 8:00 a.m. The second meeting took place on August 9 at 6:00 p.m. The final public hearing and vote was held on August 16 at 8:00 a.m.
The board unanimously voted to lower the millage for the 7th year in a row, from 19.55 mills to 19.50 mills, and to keep the bond millage rate at 0.5 mills. Without this year's mill rate reduction the school district could have collected an additional $2.2 million dollars in property tax dollars.
