Dear reader,

I'm embracing that my seasonal newsletters have slipped into what my daughter Maia calls "seasonal recaps."

This winter I often found myself sitting simply at the center of the Compass, People, taking in the amazing human beings who make my personal and professional worlds go 'round—like my daughters, husband, wonderful SXSW EDU team, and so many of you.

I've continued to shout people out in gratitude for the new events, resources, and stories below. Please share, share back your experiences, and reach out anytime.

To people (and springing out of winter),

The Innovators’ Compass template in online collaboration tool MURAL is updated!

Heartfelt thanks to Jim Kalbach for first including it in 2016, to Amy Stefanski for initiating this refresh, and especially to Emilia Åström for all her work making it happen.

Enjoy a New Story

BreakFree Education works to radically improve education in the juvenile justice system.

Their engaging programs include the Unconstruct team-based design-thinking competition, which BreakFree oriented around the Compass this year to make it even more accessible and powerful for the students and teachers involved.

It was an honor—and a challenge—to be a judge! Each team's work reimagining pedestrian safety shone in a different part of the Compass. Congrats to the winners, whom I loved getting to meet!

Huge thanks to Kaylah Holland, Christina Campbell, and Kat Crawford for their work and for including me and Innovators’ Compass in it!

YOUR stories move this work forward—please share them by email or tweet!

And yes, I still have UNSTICKers!
