Celebrate the end of Summer Reading
Summer Reading ends July 15! Celebrate your accomplishments at one of these family-friendly shindigs with fun, games, and other activities for families with children of all ages!

Central Library celebrates with foam party!
Join us 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Central Library East Parking Lot for a special Summer Reading celebration.

This event will include a foam zone with soap and water! Arrive prepared with swimsuits, swim goggles, sandals or water shoes, and towels.
Polka STEAM workshop
to celebrate summer and learning
What's an end-of-summer party without a little polka music?

Award-winning polka musician and accordion player Mike Schneider presents a fun, interactive, and educational STEAM workshop! Along with hearing plenty of accordion music, families will learn why a yodel can travel on earth but not in space; how a computer and an electronic accordion can be used to transcribe sheet music; how an accordion is made and what the parts inside do; and the importance of math in planning an hour-long radio show.

Build something cool with LEGO bricks
Discover the library's huge collection of LEGO bricks! Build something special, and leave with a photo of your creation!

No registration required! This event is intended for kids 11 and under.

Starting kids early on financial literacy
Wondering when to start financial conversations with your children? It’s never too early! We're inviting parents and kids to join us for light refreshments and fun, kid-based financial activities during this financial education workshop, presented by Bellco Credit Union. There is no charge to attend.

This workshop is intended for caregivers to attend with their elementary and middle school-aged children.
Bring the family
and enjoy the Collbran StoryWalk®!
This StoryWalk® features a hilarious read-aloud about a boy who loses his gift for rhyme. The StoryWalk® is available all hours through Aug. 15.

Start at the doors of the church in Mothers Park. Then continue to Town Hall. Follow the directions on each poster so you know where to go next to continue the story. The story ends at the Mesa County Libraries Collbran Branch. Come in and tell us how it went!
New! Kids Graphic Novel Meetup
Calling all young graphic novel enthusiasts ages 7-11! Join the Kids Graphic Novel Meetup to connect with fellow bookworms and discuss your favorite graphic novels — both in person and online.

This event happens weekly in the Central Library Idea Lab.

Art workshops presented by local artists
All workshop materials and light snacks will be provided free of charge. These events are presented in partnership with BAM! (Business Art Mentorship).
Mala making is an ancient art that creates healing and intention setting. Lynnea Tai from DarcMoon teaches how to set an affirmation and hand-tie that affirmation into a mala keychain. She will also guide you through using your mala keychain as a tool for stress relief and focus.

No jewelry making experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.

Teens: Learn about budgeting and more!
As you begin your journey into adulthood, get started on the right track by creating a real-life budget and seeing how your credit score can work for you. During this workshop, you'll participate in activity-based lessons and create a real budget that benefits you. This workshop is presented by Bellco Credit Union. There is no charge to attend.

5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2
Central Library Community Room, 443 N. 6th St.

This workshop is geared toward teenagers and young adults ages 13-25.
Gather with fellow teens for fun
and conversation
Teens ages 12-18 are invited to join in games, crafts, special events, and conversation at Teen Time, happening at the Central Library, the Fruita Branch, and the Clifton Branch.

Teen Readers Meetup happens Wednesdays
Join the Teen Readers Meetup and share what you are reading, listening to, and watching! You'll also get access to advance copies of
pre-published books and the chance to review them before they are available to the public!

Teen Readers Meetup takes place from
4 - 5 p.m. every Wednesday in the Central Library Teen Center.
