MVUU COVID Policy and Reopening Plan
Message from the Minister: Reopening

I have good news: MVUU is opening its doors for Sunday services in March!

Last December, we conducted a survey of our congregation. Based on that survey, we learned that over 99% of our congregation is vaccinated. We learned that many of you felt prepared to return, particularly with safeguards such as masking and distancing. We heard you express gratitude for a multi-platform option, allowing all of us to participate in-person or at home. Thank you for responding and for patience as we discerned our next steps.

Beginning March 6, MVUU will host multi-platform (in-person and online) services at 10:30AM. At this time, we request and expect all in-person, adult participants of Sunday services to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

How to join us for in-person services:
  • You must pre-register online (and be vaccinated)
  • Pre-registration is limited to 25 people each Sunday in March
  • Young adults, families, and first-time visitors may attend without pre-registering
  • Please sign up for no more than two Sundays in March, allowing all our Friends and Members a chance to attend in person
  • You can sign up to attend by clicking here.

For those of you who are not ready to gather in-person or who prefer an online option-- we hear you! We will continue to offer quality online options and celebrate our growing ability to meet our community in as many different ways as we can.

If you have questions about our COVID policy (below), or what to expect on Sunday morning, please reach out to me. I will direct your question or concern to the right team member.

You are loved! We can't wait to see you online or in person.

Rev. Samantha

MVUU Updated COVID-19 Policy
(Revised and Approved by the Board - February 2022)

MVUU is a covenantal community. As such, we covenant to care for one another, particularly during times of uncertainty. We will continue to re-evaluate these policies as considerations change. MVUU will drop a risk level depending on COVID numbers and staff and leadership readiness.

At this time, for all scenarios below, we are requesting and expecting that adult participants of Sunday services be vaccinated.

MVUU will continue offering quality online options so that all members, friends, and visitors of MVUU can join together each Sunday at the level of safety that works best for them.

Small group ministries and programs will be guided by principles of consent, inclusion, care, and safety in discerning their own requests for participation. We encourage small groups to engage one another in honest and caring dialogue and discernment to ensure one another’s inclusion and safety.
