Volume 11 No 6 | March 2022
If you've never seen a Snowlion Rep show, this is the one to see. Why?

The world premiere musical comedy The Secret Princess represents everything we're about - a beautifully realized production, performed by a stellar professional cast, of a highly entertaining piece that is about something resonating in the world today.

The Secret Princess is a funny, naughty, yet heartfelt exploration - thanks to the mind of the one and only MARK TWAIN - of a society beset by ridiculous laws. In the end, the spirit of the law triumphs, and our hero - heroine? - learns that being true to yourself sets you free!
Meet the Characters and Cast of
The Secret Princess!
Mary Johnston Letellier plays CONRAD, the 'Secret Princess' who, disguised as a boy since birth, is overwhelmed by the expectations of having to rule, and who yearns to have the courage, and the freedom, to reveal his/her true self.

Zachariah Stearn plays MAXIMILLIAN, the Gezetzmeister (Minister of Law) and best friend to Conrad, who lives by the letter of the law but secretly wants to be a hero.

Colleen Katana plays PRINCESS CONSTANCE of Brandenburg, cousin to Conrad, who will break any rule (and a few balls) to gain power in a male-dominated world.

Rita Micklus plays GUDA ("like the cheese only spelled different"), lady-in-waiting to Princess Constance, a strong farm girl in love with everyone and everything.

Nancy Durgin plays DUCHESS MARGARETA, Conrad's mother, a vain and grasping cougar who changes from devoted mother to ambitious snake at the drop of a hat.

Jesse Reich plays COUNT DETZIN, the host of the evening's festivities, a crafty chameleon who runs the show and the voting, and who ultimately runs rings around the heart - and loins - of the duchess.

Pat Scully plays KING ULRICH of Brandenburg, the happiest man in Germany who can find a silver lining in every cloud and who is wrapped around his daughter Constance's little finger.

Craig Capone plays a sycophantic DOCTOR (pictured), a pompous ROYAL MESSENGER, a dim-witted SHEPHERD, a surly GEZETZMEISTER and of course, MARK TWAIN himself!
Snowlion Rep's The Secret Princess brings a different MARK TWAIN to life!
Mark Twain is an iconic American writer, yet he decided in 1868 he wanted to tell a tale about a small medieval kingdom in Germany where his main character has an incredible secret. The themes of his story - among them, gender identity, the law, love and vengeance - continue to resonate today. How the story unfolds is unique to his vision, but because he failed to write an ending (he felt he had gotten his hero into an inescapable pickle), Snowlion Rep's production of The Secret Princess will ask the audience to decide how it all ends. And yes, Mark Twain is part of the festivities!
The world premiere of the musical comedy The Secret Princess is a gender-bending, naughty medieval musical romp with a surprise ending – guaranteed!

Coming to Meetinghouse Arts in Freeport April 29 through May 8, The Secret Princess features an outstanding cast of characters and more than a dozen tuneful songs by composer Thomas Adams and bookwriter/lyricist MK Wolfe (who brought Snowlion Rep audiences The Freaks Club and The Sock Who Lost His Mate).

Come help Mr. Twain figure out how to end his story, and be prepared for a wild ride!
