Second Language Studies 2023 Lecture: Joe Barcroft
|
On Mon, March 27, 4:15-5:15 PM in 180 Hagerty Hall, Dr. Joe Barcroft will give a talk entitled "Multiple input processing for different aspects of language acquisition: A focus on vocabulary." A reception will follow the presentation.
Barcroft is Professor of Spanish and Second Language Acquisition at Washington University in St. Louis. His presentation will highlight the importance of multilevel input processing, which refers to how language learners process input (samples of a target language to which they are exposed) at different levels of linguistic grain in order to acquire different aspects of language.

Study Portuguese in Curitiba, Brazil
|
The Intensive Portuguese Abroad for Spanish Teachers (IPAST) program is accepting applications. The program will include remote Portuguese language learning starting in April, followed by an exchange experience in Curitiba from June 12-30, 2023. On-site language study will take place at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR).
The program cost of the course is $2,000 USD, which includes 3 hours of Ohio State graduate tuition, course materials, and a wide array of educational activities in Curitiba. Learn more and apply here!

Learn about undergraduate and graduate program options that prepare students to teach world languages in Ohio K-12 schools. Meet practicing world language teachers and learn about their experiences in the classroom.
For Spanish, World Language Education program options include a Bachelor of Science in Education or a Master of Education.
