Here's "The Scoop!"

“Early childhood educators are more powerful than simply being good with children. Their real power is having the ability to remember what it feels like to be a brand-new human in the world. They remember what it feels like to appreciate the magic in discovery. Their greatest power of all is that they chose to share that feeling with children in a fun, positive, meaningful and lasting way!” - Author Unknown

TA Tip: Care for the Caregiver

Provider Appreciation Day is formally celebrated once a year and we think every day is Provider Appreciation Day! You are appreciated by so many families, children, business leaders and your community. Your contributions towards developing healthy children and families are immeasurable.

It is easy to give people suggestions on ways in which they can show their appreciation for someone, but do you stop to think of how you can treat yourself to a little self-appreciation? If not, plan to start making it a good habit!

You can show yourself the appreciation you need and deserve by intentionally planning for a little “You time”. Check out this article to find some easy and no-money fun tips to give yourself the attention you need and deserve. “Self-care is important. A little "you time" goes a long way!”

Preventing Compassion Fatigue: Caring for Yourself

Self-care may not be the first thing that comes to mind when most people think of dealing with trauma. As an educator, your focus is first and foremost on the children you teach. You also work with family members to support children’s learning goals. You carve out time as needed to work with specialists who support the children, team with colleagues, meet with supervisors, and interact with members of the community.

You devote a lot of time, energy, and professional responsibilities to many other people, but you may not devote enough time to yourself.

Emotional Wellness Resource for You!

Even in “normal” conditions, child care providers have high stress and highly active jobs. To ensure emotional wellness, providers need to be intentional in protecting their emotional wellness. Further, providers can help children to manage their stress by incorporating mindfulness into their daily activities.
