Palos Park Woman's Club: Honor Flight Update

Thank you to all that took the time to write cards and letters for our Honor Flight Chicago Veterans! I started this about 3 years ago with the Palos Park Woman’s Club. We recently asked everyone to join in!

Here are some pictures of the cards we collected in the last 3 months. Over 250!

Also we have about 500 hand-made post cards from Pre-K to 2nd grade students.

What a great response!

Remember this is an ongoing project and there is a box at the Palos Park Village administration building to drop off your cards.

Thanks to all those that served and all those that took the time to write a note!

A reminder to our Palos Park business community partners: our Investigators urge all to be alert for counterfeit bills Counterfeit pens used by many retailers fail to detect the fakes because the fabric and paper is real.

PPPD suggest learning how to evaluate paper money for authenticity. This link will take you to The Secret Service page where they show how to find fakes before accepting them.

Comcast in the Village

UPDATE: OCTOBER 14, 2022

Comcast is continuing their expansion into Palos Park. They have been working to remove old equipment and install new. The grid above shows the areas where they are installing their system. This does not include connection to homes as of yet. We will continue to update residents as we receive information from Comcast.

Subject: Comcast is turning Palos Park into a “Gig City”

Comcast has announced plans to expand its network into Palos Park. When the expansion is complete, all of Comcast’s Xfinity Internet plans will be available here. Xfinity Internet can deliver residential download speeds up to 1.2 Gbps. The network expansion will also bring Comcast’s other residential services, from Xfinity Mobile and Xfinity TV to Xfinity Voice (home phone) and Xfinity Home (home security), to Palos Park as well. Comcast Business‘ suite of connectivity, communications, networking, cybersecurity, wireless and managed solutions will also be available when the expansion is complete.

The expansion project is expected to begin in October. We’ll provide updates on the project’s progress and let you know when services become available.
