New Art Exhibition - Aug 4-28
Culture Lab LIC (LICP Member) presents Well Behaved: Expectations, Socialization & Gender. The exhibition explores society, gender, and the ways in which we navigate these social constructs, or reject them altogether.

Families with children aged 4-10 are invited to join Noguchi Museum educators and special guest artist Shinsuke Aso for art activities at Rainey Park, across the street from the museum.

Shakespeare at Gantry Plaza State Park - Aug 13
Queens-based Hip to Hip Theater Company will present Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing at Gantry Plaza State Park. The event is free and open to the public.

Queens Chamber Summer Rooftop Mixer - Aug 23
Join the Queens Chamber of Commerce for their August Summer Rooftop Mixture at Vista Sky Lounge. Mix and mingle with fellow business owners and Queens Chamber members. Come prepared with your business cards and be prepared to leave with an impression made.

Back to School Backpack Drive - Deadline: Aug 31
New York City Council Member Julie Won is running a Back to School Backpack Drive to support neighborhood kids/teens in advance of the school year. Donate by August 31 and help her office reach their goal of collecting 1,000 new or lightly worn back packs. School supplies are also accepted.

COVID-19 Updates
Update to NYS Small Business Recovery Grant Eligibility
More businesses are now eligible for the New York State Pandemic Small Business Recovery Grant, with businesses no longer having to demonstrate a positive net profit on their 2019 Business Tax Return. Existing applicants will be reexamined and contacted by Lendistry (please do not submit a new application).

New Applicants can visit www.nysmallbusinessrecovery.com to learn more and apply. Eligible businesses must have begun operation on or before March 1, 2019, and continue to operate as of the date of application. Grants are for COVID-19-related losses or expenses incurred between March 1, 2020, and April 1, 2021.
