Dear Friend,
Reflecting on what we have been through over the past 24 months, I’m ever so impressed by the resilience of our staff, volunteers, patients and their families, and our community.
The stories of compassion, strength and perseverance puts us all together in going above and beyond.
We have lots to share including our annual report where our stories come to life for you. Feel free to share our work with your circle of friends.
Spring is here and we are moving forward to brighter days!

April 16th is Healthcare Decisions Day
|
|
Did you know? April 16 is National Healthcare Decisions Day, a day that recognizes the importance of Advance Directives. Defined by the Foundation for Healthy Communities, “Advance Directives are instructions you give regarding your future care. To ensure that everyone understands your instructions, the State of New Hampshire recognizes a written advance directive as a legal document with two parts: a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care and a Living Will.”
The Medical Social Workers at Cornerstone VNA are a valuable community resource and can assist you with completing your Advance Directives, which can be done at any point throughout the year. Our Social Workers are available by phone at (800) 691-1133 if you have any questions or would like to discuss future plans for completing this important document.

Volunteer Appreciation Week
|
|
April 17-April 23 marks National Volunteer Appreciation Week. It is a time for us to spotlight our caring volunteers for their gifts of time and talent!
We'd like to give a huge round of applause to our team of volunteers! We count on the contributions of these selfless individuals, and their presence is especially important during unprecedented times.
We honor those who never stopped volunteering on the front lines throughout difficult circumstances. In 2021, our volunteers shared more than 5,300 hours of their time to support our organization. Wow!!
Our dynamic volunteer team is top notch and complete our Circle of Caring!

Introducing Phlebotomy at Home Services
|
|
We are pleased to introduce a new mobile phlebotomy service for individuals who need lab draws done at home. Cornerstone VNA was able to launch this innovative service by using generous funding from FedPoint to purchase several mobile centrifuge machines, which are used to spin blood samples. The goal of this service is to make lab tests more convenient and comfortable for individuals needing routine lab work.
If an individual needs their blood drawn, but cannot get to a collection site due to mobility issues or other factors, Cornerstone VNA will go to wherever they call home. For some people, an illness or disability can make it hard to travel, and some may simply want to avoid crowded outpatient labs, driving, and wait times. It is also the perfect service for individuals who may prefer the convenience and privacy of receiving care in their own home. In-home phlebotomy services can also help individuals with anxiety and needle phobia, or who have standing orders for repeat testing. Please contact our Life Care- Private Duty department at 603-332-1133 Ext 1758 for more details.
