March 2023 Newsletter

The Mildred Kemper Lane Art Museum reflected in Weil Hall

Dear Students,

As we move into mid March, I hope you have been able to take some time off this Spring to recharge. I am excited to see that we have a number of events and opportunities in the upcoming weeks, and wanted to specifically highlight a few.

The GSS will be conducting the 2023 Graduate Research Symposium on April 4 and I hope to see high levels of participation from our graduate and professional students. The Graduate Center will be holding a repeat of their very successful Art & Wine! event at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum on April 3 — we had hundreds of attendees in the fall from across campus, and hope to see a similar turnout this time. These are just two events connected with our recognition of national Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week (April 3–7). Learn more below about how we will be celebrating the tremendous contributions of our graduate and professional students here at WashU during that week.

Finally, for our students in Humanities, The Graduate Center will be co-sponsoring the Graduate Student Summer Residency at the National Humanities Center— details on how to apply are provided in this newsletter.

I hope you will find some of these events to be of interest and we look forward to your participation and engagement.

Warm regards,

—Vijay K. Ramani, vice provost for graduate education and international affairs
