Spring Convening
While it doesn't feel like Spring, the time for our Spring convening is right around the corner. If you haven't filled it out yet, please fill out the doodle poll so we can confirm the date and time.
Some of you have asked if you can bring members of your team, either with you or in your place if you cannot make it - absolutely! I would love to have your teams there! If you would like, please bring two/three additional guests with you that you believe could help with the development of our legislative agenda.
Once we settle on a date, if you find that you can't attend the entire time or can't attend at all, please do send someone that can represent your district in your place. The more representation, the better our legislative agenda can be.
I will have a save the date out to you all next week!

Texas Commission on Virtual Education
The Texas Commission on Virtual Education met for the first time on Wednesday.
The focus on this meeting was mainly an overview of the current state of Virtual Education and Operation Connectivity.
The Chair of the committee announced that there would only be one day dedicated to public testimony, but did not announce that date.

Campus and District Visits
Thank you to Somerset ISD and Dr. Hinojosa for a great visit last week! It was a treat to visit some of your campuses, speak with some of your team, meet with some of your teachers, and witness the passion of your staff.
It was incredibly useful to hear both the concerns of your teams and the incredible successes you have seen over the past several years!
Special shout out to Southside ISD and Superintendent Ramirez for rolling out the red carpet for a recent and productive meeting with Representative Lujan!
It was a pleasure to visit your District Office and finally get a chance to meet you all in person!
