District Leadership Update
We’d like to congratulate Jill Abraham, Deputy Superintendent, as she has been named the new Assistant Superintendent of Hilliard City Schools.

The Bexley Board of Education accepted Mrs. Abraham’s resignation during the March 9 regular board meeting.

We are thankful for her tireless efforts and dedication to our district during her time with Bexley. Her final day in Bexley will be March 31.

The district plans to secure an interim deputy superintendent to fulfill this role beginning April 1. The interim deputy superintendent will provide necessary supports associated with this role to our students and staff.

We will continue to share updates through district communications.
March 2 at Bexley High School
March 2 was a day of student-determined learning.

Students had the opportunity to job shadow in various professional fields throughout Bexley and central Ohio. Students were able to choose from 62 different learning sessions, and more than 200 students signed up.

High schoolers experienced roles in law, education, aviation, architecture, and many more. Some students even shadowed Governor DeWine, Representative Kristin Boggs, and Judge Chris Brown.

Thank you to our community members who made this incredible day possible for our students.
Seniors handled the teaching on the afternoon of March 2. From yoga to 3D printing, students planned and designed learning experiences for their classmates to participate in. Check out this short video to learn more about Senior Takeover.

Health and Safety
Ohio Department of Health released new K-12 guidance for case reporting this afternoon. This guidance eases requirements for schools and is effective immediately.

Schools will no longer be required to:
  • Maintain a COVID-19 reporting system for parents to report positive COVID-19 cases.
  • Have a designated COVID-19 coordinator for the district.
  • Notify parents of positive COVID-19 cases among staff, students, or coaches.
  • Report positive cases of COVID-19 to their local health department unless the school tests a student for COVID-19 and the result is positive.

We will continue to provide support with COVID-related questions. Test kits and KN95 masks are still available by request. It’s also important to note that quarantine and isolation measures, as outlined in the Mask to Stay, Test to Play protocol for K-12 schools, will remain in effect.
